去年12月25日聖誕節前，STA 製作了快樂聖誕歌。今年農曆四月初八佛誕節前，STA 也會製作快樂佛誕歌。你覺得 STA 是基督徒還是佛教徒呢？ 這首雖是佛陀生日快樂歌，其實主要是祝福我們大家都能朝福慧圓滿之路走去，有了煩惱不用怕！
我常不解為何 佛教的歌曲大都不斷重複唱名，認為是經典中有 稱念「佛名」會得到護佑之類的話，信徒就自作主張做了一堆這樣的歌曲，方便傳唱。有次我放來聽，還被外人說「請節哀」，以為我家在辦喪事。一般人只知道佛說人生苦短，但卻不知祂期望眾生有智慧的得到幸福快樂。這便是我製作新佛誕歌曲的主要原因。也是一首祝福大家的歌曲！

Before Christmas on December 25 last year, STA created the song Merry Christmas. This year, before the Buddha’s Birthday on the eighth day of the fourth lunar month, STA will also produce Happy Buddha’s Birthday. Do you think STA is a Christian or a Buddhist?
I have often wondered why Buddhist songs tend to repeatedly chant the names of Buddhas. It seems that since Buddhist scriptures mention that reciting the Buddha’s name brings blessings and protection, followers have taken it upon themselves to create many such songs for easy dissemination. Once, when I played one of these songs, someone outside my home told me, "My condolences," thinking a funeral was taking place. Most people only know that the Buddha taught that life is short and full of suffering, but they don’t realize that He hoped all beings would attain happiness and wisdom. This is the main reason I decided to create a new Buddha’s Birthday song.

昨年12月25日のクリスマス前に、STAは「メリークリスマス」の歌を作りました。今年の旧暦4月8日の仏誕節前にも、STAは「ハッピー仏誕」の歌を制作する予定です。STAはキリスト教徒だと思いますか？それとも仏教徒でしょうか？
私は以前から、なぜ仏教の歌が仏の名前を繰り返し唱えるものばかりなのか、不思議に思っていました。経典の中に「仏の名を唱えれば加護が得られる」といった内容があるため、信者たちがそれを参考にして、多くの繰り返しの歌を作り、広めるようになったのかもしれません。ある日、そのような曲を流していたら、外の人に「ご愁傷様です」と言われ、葬儀をしていると勘違いされたこともあります。多くの人は、仏が「人生は苦しみで短い」と説いたことは知っていますが、実は仏が人々に智慧を持ち、幸せになってほしいと願っていることはあまり知られていません。これが私が新しい仏誕の歌を作る主な理由です。
